MoMa : Is Fashion Modern?

By Anna Lomax

Eighteen images commissioned by curator Paola Antonelli and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, for Items: Is Fashion Modern?, MoMA's first fashion exhibition since 1944.

The show presented 111 items of clothing and accessories that shaped the 20th and 21st centuries, from Levi's 501s and the bikini to Comme des Garçons' Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body and the Nike Air Force 1.

Anna's images featured in the exhibition, its catalogue, postcards and the A to Z book that accompanied the show.

Hermes : Object Sense

Object Sense is Anna Lomax's concept and design for the Hermès UK window scheme.

It explores how the sense of an object is tied to our own history of a time, place or moment, and how objects can stir feelings both physically and emotionally.

At its heart is the column, with its connotations of strength, structure and support. It carries the history of the past, injected with humour and surprise to celebrate the future.

MCP x Anna Lomax : City Nights

A 60ft x 60ft interactive installation conceived, designed and installed by Anna Lomax for MCP, a shopping mall in Hong Kong, where it ran for three months. Anna also directed a series of animations to promote it.

Inspired by a summer walk through a tropical city from day into night, the installation offered a playful space to step away from the fast pace of the city, across three zones: a sunrise, a graphic night-time photo moment, and a tropical walled garden filled with oversized fruit and leaf sculptures.

ITV Creates x Anna Lomax

Anna Lomax's ident for ITV Creates takes its inspiration from one of the best weeks of the year: the week between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.

It captures the down-time and the calm before the storm, then the colour and celebration of New Year.

Twenty confetti cannons were rigged to fire together, exploding into a riot of unexpected colour and fun.

Gant x Anna Lomax: A Love Letter to New York

A Love Letter to New York is a window takeover by Anna Lomax for Gant's Regent Street store in London.

Designed as a nod to Gant's New York heritage, the windows became a psychedelic portal from London to New York, paying homage to the city's creative streets: 70s disco meets the metallics of Studio 54, meets the neon-lit grit of 80s New York.

Parade!

Parade! is a site-specific public installation by Anna Lomax, commissioned by Brookfield Properties for Principal Place in Shoreditch, London. Oversized, colourful steel forms celebrate the hidden gems of the City: its people, its places and its unexpected moments.

Large aluminium slabs stand in for the City's architecture, sometimes hiding the forms and sometimes giving them a stage.

The composition invites people to explore, sit and take a moment away from the pace of the City.

All Lit Up! V&A Christmas Tree

All Lit Up! is Anna Lomax's Christmas tree installation for the V&A, standing beneath the museum's dome in South Kensington, London.

Taking the V&A's iconic dome columns as a starting point, Anna gave them a literal, playful twist: a 4.3m column that animates with light, turning a classical form into a joyful spectacle of Christmas spirit.

The piece continues her ongoing work with the column, where classical architecture is made to misbehave.
